The hotel is run by a young couple who are friendly. The breakfast was good. It has expansive backyard with lots of trees and green grass. it also has WiFi, microwave and coffee maker.
The room smelled a little bit of tobacco smoke. There was not enough toiletries.
we liked the location
the bathroom was cold and the floor was freezing. towels were small.
I mistakenly stayed at the Econolodge in Manchester a few weeks ago. When I arrived, the woman who was covering the front desk seemed very out of place. Not sure if she was covering for the owner or a regular employee but check in was not smooth. She ran my credit card and typed in my license number into the computer but before I could say anything, she was also taking a photocopy of both. I asked why she was doing that and she said, because she was told to. This makes me very uncomfortable since this is a recipe for identity theft. There is no reason for that to have happened. My card had been run, and I had given my credit card number on the online registration. I have never had that happen before. I asked for it and she said that she had to keep it. Once I reached my room, I realized that the pretty photographs on the website are very misleading. The hallway and room smelled of mold and lights in the hallway barely worked. The room was tiny, poorly lit, the fridge rattled and moaned. (I had to unplug it it was so bad). I decided to make the best of the night and went to get ice. I found an empty machine and the woman just shrugged and said, "machine doesn't work". The next morning, I went to the lobby to get the free breakfast that was included in the price and found nothing. This was at 8:40 am. There was no food out, nothing to be had. The lobby was empty and no one was behind the desk. I rang the bell for service, and no one showed up. I stood there for 5 minutes ringing the bell, and no one came. I even tried the front door and it was locked up tight. No sign of anyone or the free breakfast. I also had wanted to talk to the manager about the copy of my license and credit card, but had to leave with no resolution. To have paid $99 for this experience is pretty much a crime. I was not given the service that I paid for (breakfast for 2) and the accommodations were not what was advertised. I understand that often stock photos are used, and I understand that they don't always match, but the photos on the web page are actual photos of the hotel, and I have to tell you, they do not match. This place is a dump, and honestly, I am surprised that Econo Lodge and Choice Hotels would put their name on it. To follow up this ridiculous experience, I tried repeatedly to call the hotel and speak to the manager/owner. No answers or return phone calls. I was finally able to reach a wonderful customer service rep at Choice Hotels who was very helpful and volunteered to call the hotel for me. When she returned to my call, she told me that the owner was refusing to refund any money because I HAD NOT FILED THE COMPLAINT BEFORE I LEFT THE HOTEL. He wouldn't listen to her, or accept that NO ONE HAD BEEN PRESENT to complain to. He also outright LIED when he told her that he spoke to be personally on check out and that I hadn't complained at that point AND that he had personally mailed me a letter to apologize. I was mildly agitated about the experience before but his outright lies, unwillingness to make this right and frankly, deceitful and dishonest actions are horrendous. Shame on the owner. The good news is that I had a great experience with Choice Customer support and the wonderful woman did her best to make it right with me. While I will never spend another minute at the Econolodge in Manchester, VT, I will continue to be a customer of the Choice Hotel brand.
Horrible service, disgusting hotel, owner is a deceitful and dishonest, no breakfast.
It was fairly close to Stratton mountain
No continental breakfast (as advertised) No game room ( as advertised) No internet ( as advertised) No microwave ( as advertised) No hot water unless requested at the front desk No cups for the coffee maker ( even though I requested them) Cable tv was local channels and Ion channel only. (No movie channels. No tbs, tnt, usa, or similar channels. Plenty of public access though)
nothing, no hot water no breakfast no fridge no microwave bad tv heating unit kicked on every five minutes was not worth the money paid for it
You get what you pay for. The basic, clean but not more. The owner is trying to please you. Only go if you are on a budget!
It's under renovation so their was no breakfast as advertized, the owner was not quick to respond to the bell .
